Hey all....

Just a quick question.. is there any good spray-on type of material I can treat by canvas boat storage cover with to keep it more waterproof? In the recent rains we had here in SC I noticed the carpet was getting very wet inside, and I want to do what I can to prevent mildew. I travel alot and am not always here to remove the cover to let her dry out. I know that there is 'Camp Dry' for tents..was wondering if there was anything along those lines for marine uses. TIA!

go to a camping store and look for a product called NIKI WAX. BAsically you take it to a laudromat and but your cover in a big washer dump this stuff in and then dry it works great.

Hey Smash,

Real cotton canvas is suposed to breath. I've read articles about sealers rotting the cotton and threaded seems, making the material brittle and shortening its life.

If it is cotton it is only designed to be water resistant, not proof and to also protect the boat from UV rays, debris, the kids basketball, ect.

If you need water-proof there are water-proof covers you can buy.

Just a thought
