I have two covers for my boat. One is a storage cover and the other is a travel cover. Both are made of canvas. I have noticed that where the water puddles when it rains, the water soaks through both covers. The covers are a few years old. Question, can they be re-waterproofed? What is a good product for it? I did a search and couldn't find an answer even though I do remember reading something about this recently. Typically, I have both covers on at the same time, as the storage cover covers more of the boat, and I always leave the travel cover on.

I waterproof mine with Camp Dry. I get it at wally world in the shoe department. Has silicon in it, and I do it once a year, usually takes 2 cans.

I've used the Star Brite waterproofer annually on mine. Works well either in a sparay bottle or lawn type sprayer. I use about a gallon to do my cover, but your usage will really depend on the size of your boat and cover.

I've used both the ScotchBrite brand aerosol spray and the Starbrite product mentioned above. They both worked equally well on my Sunbrella cover, but I got way more coverage with the Starbrite- enough to recoat the whole cover a second time.

Camp dry works well and doesn't add as much weight as some of the brush or roll on sealers. Make sure you really coat the seams well and the cover will last. If your cover develops pockets when wet, build or buy a prop to raise the cover in those spots. Attaching a frizbee to a post protects the cover and does the job cheaply.

I like the frizbee idea. I was going to build a box-like thing with pvc, but this sounds easier. Thanks for all. Mark
