waterpump impeller

just replaced the impeller on my alpha 1 gen 1.the vertical shaft turns a bit harder now.please tell me this is normal...thanks,mike

If you installed it correctly the rubber vanes make it more difficult to turn verses turning it with a worn out impeller.
As long as you didn't install the nuts with a 1/2 inch ratchet and crush the upper housing , you should be fine.

I torqued them right to spec. I was hoping that was the case. Thank you.
