what do you have to do for the prop to hook back up to the water?<br /><br />There are two possibilies on that out drive. If, for any reason, you've lost electrical continuity to the outdrive, it will basically just go back to neutral. Just as if you reved up the motor in neutral. Usually when you lose that continuity and the drive slips out of gear, when it tries to re-engage, under load, it snaps of the little ear on the forward drive slinky and won't ever hook back up.<br /><br />The other possiblity is that you have simply reached the point where the torque has overcome the prop's rubber hub's ability to hold to the prop. When you back off it can hook back up. In this case it's off to the prop shop for your screw.
