We spent the weekend driving up to Pittsburgh to pickup a new family member.
Molly is a four year old Westie - puppy mill rescue. She has spent her entire life in a small run and pregnant, she didn't even have a name. She doesn't know anythang about being a dog. No laps, no running, no playing, no trick, no treats - nothing. Just sit there and make babies.
She traveled really well in the car - through the mountains. About half way home we stopped for a potty brake and she decided that she wanted to ride in the "way back" with the big dogs, which was a pretty big step. When we got home last night she was a little unsure about being loose in the yard and spent about two hours just walking and sniffing.
She is absolutely fascinated with our cats (she has never seen one before) and our 14 month old daughter (never seen a child either). A good nights sleep in a real bed and she is much more comfortable. A little scared of the steps (down only) but she spent the entire morning just running - almost cried watching her. Back inside for breakfast and now she is napping in the living room. She still tries to dissappear into a corner when she is not "snooping" but we know this will not last long. Can't wait to introduce her to the boat.
I will get some pics up here a little later.
