We got a small buck

Not bad for the first and last buck of the year, my son says is a good one. Hopefully I will get the girlfriend son to nail a Tom comes April. He hunted the beginning of the deer season but no luck.

It is a small 8 pointer. Not even 100 pounds I guess. If this deer would had lived somewhere else than the land of "if its brown it's down" it would have had a great future.

Its a lot bigger deer than I got this year, so enjoy! Fortunately I still have elk and deer in the freezer from last year, all vacuum sealed and ready to go..

don't feel bad for killing does or small deer.
most deer hunters only want to kill big bucks.
but i just like to kill anything i can.
i want meat, not nessecarily big bucks.

but that is still a decent rack.

if it moves, i am prob going to shoot at it.

Oh, dont get me wrong, I have no problem with meat or trophy hunters, I'm neither. However I would love to have a nice wall hanger some day. I would not go without deer meat as many of my friends have meat and they will share. Funny was at the beginning of the season I keep letting doe's go by as I was saving my tags for my girlfriend son but once he got to go I would not see a thing... then I started to go myself and was not seeing anything either. Was starting to wonder if the 06 was going to not bark at all and would go bloodless this season. I tell you this, I hanged some back-straps on the wall and they stunk the crap out of the house!!!! lol!
