We have a 1973 Johnson 65hp.<br /><br />We noticed that the 2nd and 3rd cylinder spark plugs have 2 small brown marks on them. Cylinder 1 is nice and clean. We are having high speed problems. It seems that we are maybe at 80% capacity of the engine. If the timing was incorrect then it should affect all cylinders, right ? Are engine has 3 cylinders and each one has its own coil. Coil 1 was changed a few years ago (we didn't have the engine when it was done but its easy to see that it was changed) and the other coils seem to be the original ones. Could the problem be with the Stator or something else ?<br /><br />The spark plugs are all new. The carbs were all rebuilt ...<br /><br />Regards
