as i have bought a new boat, I plan to stay a few nights and evenings in it and would like to install a dieselheater/Webasto etc in it. but wondered where to install it..? got a 22ft daycruiser with a I/O. should i install the heater in the enginebay, then just one outlet in the cabin? easy and quick..

ideally i would love to install it in the "center" of the boat, and have two outlets, one for defogging the windshield and one for the cabin.. so neither outlet is to far away from the heater. but placement of the heater is problematic then, other than under the floorboards in the stow-away compartment..

what have you done? or have any thoughts to share?

will take better pics tomorrow. its bedtime here! good night gurus of the sea..

You DO NOT want a diesel heater with a flame in any compartment even connected in any way of the fuel tank.
That is just asking for a biggggggg explosion if you get a gas leak.
I have installed them before in compartments not connected to the bilge area in any way. They need to be in a compartment that gets outside air and and can be exhausted well above the waterline.
Ducting gets to be the problem for the defroster for the windshield.

Get with a Webasto dealer or check out their site Webasto: Marine heating solutions: air heating

I was a liveaboard for many years in Washington state and Alaska, and Webasto kept me warm.
