does anyone know of a website that you can go to to download a service manual?
or does anyone have a breakdown on the Johnson 140 carb (plastic carb) that they can e-mail me

As far as a manual , to download. No, such thing. They're under copyright. You can look at e-bay, or Ken cook site.

You may find one cheaper on e-bay.

Sometimes the carb kits, have alittle instruction sheet in them.

If your familiar , with carbs in general, it shouldn't be too difficult for you.

You really do need to get a OEM manual, for your motor.

Or at least a clymer, seloc, etc. Though the information is at times vague, for any specific motor.

As they cover several years, and motors.

Some of the online parts houses , have detailed parts drawings you can look at.

If thats all you need . I believe one is, boatparts.com . Google outboard parts or search here .

The site name, is not coming to mind, if the one I posted isn't it.

Go to the BRP Parts Catalogs by copying the following to your browser without the quotation marks.

"http://epc.brp.com/default.aspx?brands=ej&lang=E"

Then navigate to your motor and select "carburetor".

You can print the diagram and download the parts list to Excel.

Just so you'll know .

Alot of the kits, are for different motors, and have parts that aren't allways needed .

In each application.

But, its a good idea to check , as you intend.

Click this and navigate around for your parts drawings...(skip the stuff at the first screen if it shows up, and go to the catalog). I At the parts catalog, click your motor up at the left and you're on the way to the land of OZ

not on the main drain plug, this is a small black o-ring
does it go on the "tube" that comes up through the middle of the bowl?

As Walker said, the only 'O' ring on that carburetor goes on the drain plug on the float bowl as the parts diagram shows.

What was the part number of the kit that you bought?
