Weed Eater Storage

I am moving into an APT. next week for about 8 months or more. I am storing my lawn equipment (blower, weed eater, riding mower and stick edger). I have ran all the gas out of them and was wondering if I should do anything else to help ensure that they are not ruined just sitting in storage. Any suggestion? Thanks!

You should get a can of fogging oil and run that through the motors. Because you already ran the gas out just squirt a couple of squirts of oil in each of the cylinders and then crank them a couple of times with the plug wires disconnected.

I'll admit that I do nothing to my weedeater except run it out of gas, and it has always been fine. I do change the oil in my 4 stroke equipment prior to storing it for the winter as well as draining/running the gas out. If it is in a good enclosed building then it does not need as much preventive care as it would if stored in the elements, but thats just my opinion.

I always change the oil when I take it out of storage because of condensation and such.

Like eurolarva said, use some type of oil in the cylinders after running the gas out.<br />Keeps the rings from sticking and rust from forming.<br /><br />Also, if 4 stroke stuff, change the oil at the time of putting back in service.<br />Like Formula said, it will sit and sweat inside and cause condensation to form.
