weedless or standard

Mostly curious... On a 50's 10-15 hp Johnnyrude motor, all other things being equal, how much speed is sacrificed going from a standard to a weedless prop? 10%? 15% 20%? 25%?

I'm sure that you can google weedless props and get a lot of hits with that and then go to their web sight and find your answer..

I was there back then, but to give you a quantitative number I can't. Best swag is 20% since I have been driven by both. When you run the weedless, speed is not your concern. My 2c is that if you don't need it get a standard prop if propulsion is a concern.

Tried that for a half hour before coming here, using various search phrases. Came up empty. All that I saw was that weedless was less efficient, but not even a ballpark figure of how much.

But thanks for your help, anyway. I'll go away now and not disturb you for the rest of the season. Have a nice life.
