Got done spending the majority of my Memorial Day weekend working on the boat. Didn't kill myself too badly, only spent about eight hours each day. Riveted the top to the hull using about 150 aluminum rivets. Thought about stainless rivets, but they were way too spendy, and the aluminum rivets are still better than the staples they replaced. I then screwed on the aluminum rubrail bracket with another 150 stainless screws, about twice as many as were originally on, and those were rusted steel. I mounted the 125 horse Merc, and that was my Saturday.

Sunday I spent the day building the bulkhead that takes the place of the consoles that were cut off, and that took a large portion of the day, although I admit I took a lot of breaks.

Today I glassed in the base of the bulkhead I spent Sunday fitting in, and I also foamed under the floor. I used a two inch holesaw and cut 14 holes, elevated the bow, and filled four stringer voids, totalling 16 cubic feet of floatation foam, about twice as much as was originally installed. I used the cut out wood to place back in the holes and held them down with a 25 pound weight. Worked well, no blowouts. Finally, I glassed over the holes with some mat, and called it a day. Next is building the console and seat, running controls, wiring, fuel tank, battery, enclosing splashwell, and finishing touches. My lake level is still too low, so its okay if it takes a few more weeks, although I am definatley in the home stretch now.
