like in loading a trailer what should the weight of the bow of the boat weigh in proportion to the stern in a perfect world?

10% tongue weight is the standard rule of thumb for a rear hitch trailer, 15 - 25% for a Fifth Wheel. Does not matter what you're hauling. You might want to look vvvvvvv for the Trailer and Towing section for more info on that . . . Also, no matter what your bow or stern weighs, it is positioning on the trailer that will determine this, not necessarily the weight distribution of the boat itself. If it is heavy, you can move the bow stop towards the rear, too light, move it forward . . . If you move it back you don't want any of your hull hanging past the bunks for proper support.

i dont mean on the trailer but the boat itself floating in the watter. sorry i guess i dident clarify that in my post

Doh!! Well then I have a different answer . . . It depends only on how it performs. Different hulls at different speeds like different weight balance. For my boats which usually run about 50+ ish MPH, I like them to be set up weight balance wise fore and aft so that I can trim them all of the way to the trim limit of the drive at wide open throttle (WOT). At this point I just want it to start to porpoise. Then I control the porpoise with trim tabs. This should be the fastest setup and then theoretically also the most efficient.
