I have a 94 Evinrude 90 hp V 4

Around what does it weigh?

I plan to do some work to my transom and am curious about plans to deal with the motor.

Re: Weight of Motor

t's about 290 pounds for the standard shaft, and about 12 pounds more for long shaft.

An engine hoist works well or a large tree branch and some rigging...

Re: Weight of Motor

Get it under a tree limb or ceiling joist , etc.

Tie / chain motor over limb, etc.

Witn the front of trailer as low as possible , can jack up rear of trailer slightly , if needed.

Tie/ bind off tightly. Then just raise front of trailer.

There should be enough room to swing motor , out of the way.

I've done this with all the steering and throttle cables still connected.

And was able to use a chainsaw to remove rotten transom, had plenty of room.
