Took the boat out a few days ago and was running great. Got to my first fishing spot and turned it off, fished for awhile then went to head over to another area and the engine started right up sounded fine but when I went to take off it was bow up and max 15mph. The boat wouldn’t plane out or get to speed at WOT. Stopped and tried again and it did the same thing. Sat still at idle scratching my head and for kicks decided to give it a couple high revs in neutral then went to take off and boom ran great, got on plane quickly and up to 48mph with 3 people in the boat. This was repeated the entire trip. After I turned off the engine and sat for awhile it would continue to bow up and sit at 15mph until I stop and rev it up in neutral then it takes off like nothing happened.

Was an extremely rough runner when purchased so these are then things that have been done and after it ran perfect all last season.
compression is amazing across the board.
new fuel pump and lines.
new spark plugs, spark checked with spark tester to all 6
carbs sonic cleaned and rebuilt.
new primer bulb.
new impeller
new batteries

Sounds like possible flooding issue from what you describe but I am going to lean toward a switchbox r stator issue.

Found a broken wire under the stator. New stator and trigger on the way. We shall see, hopefully that’s the issue
