Welch Plugs...Which Side Up?

Hey everybody,

Should the welch plugs (frost caps) be convex side facing away from the jet chamber or the reverse?

I just got the new ones in the mail...can't wait to get the carbs back together!!!

All of the ones I have seen have had the convex side to the outside of the device. So, when installing, you strike the convex side to seat the plug.

I saw a video where a tech used a ratchet extension and a hammer to seat them.

What is everybody else using?
