Well I officially signed the paperwork today to trade in my 2010 Bayliner 185BR and I am buying a 2006 Searay 240 Sundancer. I loved my 185BR, but was getting alittle beat up in the bay with it. Also, wife and kids wanted a bathroom and the ability to stay overnight at a transient slip. I will be droping my boat off this weekend and the Searay will be delivered to me next week. So I hopefully will have it in for father's day. What a nice present. :)

Here are some pics of the new boat.

Hey JoLin, there were some logistical issue that needed to be worked out that this boat addressed which made the transaction much easier. How's the 278 been for you? Assuming you haven't sold the CC yet? Any good bites?

Sent you a PM

Spike, we're liking the 278 and still getting it setup for weekending. I only picked it up Mem. Day weekend cause of the lousy weather this Spring and I'm getting the hang of having twins :)

Planning a week-long trip at end of July, out to the north fork (Greenport) with stop overs in Shinnecock (out) and West Hampton (back). It'll be our first 'voyage' ever. But, the boat is nice- runs great and everything's working, even the AC!

I think you're going to enjoy the Searay a lot- I'm assuming it's a 5.7 or 6.0? If so, it's a great combo with the duo-prop in that size boat. Enjoy!

Its actually a Merc 5.0 MPI with 260hp. I think the family will enjoy it alot. Just anxious to get it shipped down here from Boston. Lotta logistics that have been worked out. Just need to implement to get it here now. :)

That sounds like a fun trip. You will have to let me know.

Twin engines must be something.

The beauty of MPI and advanced computerization. The 1999 Chris*Craft 5.7 with TBI put out 280 and I was very impressed with the power AND economy. I had upsized to that from a 21' with 175 2-stroke Johnson, and the C*C didn't use a drop more fuel.

And you're gonna love that Bravo III- I swore I could thread a needle at low speed with the V-P duo-prop. Zero prop steer. When I went to that from the outboard my docking ability went up about 1000%.

Beautiful boat, guy. I could only be happier for you if you'd bought mine. LOL!

Oh, and the twin engines? Pretty sweet. It's actually fairly intuitive and I've even had some success 'crab-walking' the boat into a raft-up when the boat I was tying to had both bow and stern anchors out. The stern anchor was on the beach. I couldn't circle around the sterns of the rafted boats so had to bring it in mostly sideways. I'm still pretty rough around the edges but getting there.

My brother in law has a Monterrey 260 CSR with the 350 MAG and Bravo 3. That thing is nice. :) So I have had experience with the BIII. So you getting any good hits on your CC?

You got off lucky with 6-foot-itis. I got hit with 20-foot-itis  when I bought my Carver!
