Wellcraft 4.3L 175HP - is this a solid config

Hi all- I'm considering a 1988 Wellcraft with a 175HP V6 - I've gathered that this is Merc 4.3L (no?). Is it possible that it's an OMC?

per my other posts here recently, this would be my first boat. I want to make sure I'm getting into something that's got plenty of parts available in the event I need them.

Is this a strong motor- in that does it perform substantially better than the 3.0's O commonly see in this size boat I'm looking at (17-19ft).

What are views on Wellcraft of this era in general?

My 1984 26ft Aft Cab is still rock hard & heavy-solid boats.

yes, Wellcrafts are and always were solid boats. The Late 80's Wellcrafts were monsters ..as well as some of the best looking out there...good luck

Great- thanks. Given the apparent heft, will the 4.3 struggle at all with skiers?

i dont think so..it shhould be fine..I have and 18000lb boat with twin 260's and I pull a skier fine..
