wellcraft Coastal 238 deck ice chest drain

I just purchased a Coastal 238. The floor ice chest on the aft deck seems to be draining into the bilge. This can not be the way it was designed... Was it intended to drain to a pump? In the heavy rains down south the rain is going into the ice chest and into the bilge rather than travelling around the gutters of the ice chest lid and to the scuppers...
