Wellcraft Eclipse any good?

Hi, I'm new to the site. I am looking at a 1995 Eclipse. I would appreciate any general information on these. The seller is asking $8000. Also, the motor is raw water cooled and while the seller claims never to have used it in the salt, if I buy it, it will always be in salt water. Is there any way to change the cooling system to fresh?

I don't know anything about the Eclipse. You can generally convert to a closed cooling system (parts run about $1k IIRC), but many recommend against it on older boats as the sand/silt and scale that has already built up inside the motor will likely end up clogging up the heat exchanger.
