I just took delivery of a 2001 Wellcraft Martinique 3700 shipped from the USA. I tried to put on the 12V electricals after switching on all the 12v switches at the electrical control panel. Nothing happened. I could not turn on the lights etc. I figured that the main battery switch was not turned on. I tried to open the engine hatch which I believe is where the main battery switches are. I could not locate the hatch switch. Furthermore even if I were to locate the switch for the electrical hatch, I am not sure if the batteries still have any juice in them. Can some boater out there who is familiar with the Wellcraft advise me where the hatch switches are and if the batteries are flat, how can the engine hatch be manually opened? Is it just a matter of prying open the hatch with a screwdriver or will that damage the hatch electrical opening mechanism?

Thanks

Mike

Re: Wellcraft Martinique 3700

Thanks. Looked at the online owner's manual. It did not show how to open the engine hatch or how to
deal with a situation if batteries are flat.
Cheers

Have no idea what your boat looks like, but look at the hatches or near them, there are normally access panels to the lift cylinder so you can disconnect them and open the hatches by hand.

I think the bat switch is port stearn above deck
you should be able to get to them with out raising the hatch
then conect to shore power
bats are on the starboard stearn side
but I would hook to shore power and see if the bats charge through the on board charger

Re: Wellcraft Martinique 3700

Thanks. I found the switch tucked away at the port stern. They were all left in the ON position meaning my boat delivery guys forgot to turn them off and they have been on for a few months. I also found the hatch switch. So I guess now the last thing left to do is to charge the batteries and see if the hatch works.

Thanks
