Hi Everyone, I am new to the forum so please be gentle on me.
I have a problem with a Wellcraft Martinique 3000 engine warning system.
The starboard water temp warning starts to squeal its head off, 5 to 10 Seconds after the engine is started and will not
stop untill the engine is shut down.
Everything else seems fine, engine is running fine and according to the gauge the water temp is good. The only thing that may
have had an influence on the problem is that the alternator died on the starboard engine and the starboard battery went flat.
I have since replaced the alternator and charged the battery and the charging circute is working fine now.
I am a little lost on this one as It is a different type of warning systom to what I have seen in the past and was hoping someone
may be able to give me some advice on what to check.
She is fitted with 2 x 350 throttle body injected chevy engines
Hope someone can help.

Cheers
Peter

I was hoping someone would answer your question. I to have a constant buzzer I discovered after I purchased my boat a few months ago. I was working inside the switch panel and discovered an unplug (only one horn) horn. On my mercs there was a horn for each engine that at least let you which engine was sounding the alarm.

Re: Wellcraft Martinique Engine Warning System

Hi
I have sorted out the problem, there are a couple of things that influence the buzzer and all are basicaly related to earth return circuts
You have your oil pressure switch which is a resitance to earth, your temp sender switch which is a resitance to earth and your drive
oil reservoir has a float switch inside it which is a resistance to earth.
When you get a direct earth on any of these senders the buzzer will go off, in my case it was a faulty drive oil reservoir switch, The faulty switch
was telling the alarm system that I was out of drive oil so thats why the alarm was buzzing.
If you disconect each switch one at a time you will soon find out where the problem lies.
However, if you disconect the switches and the buzzer is still going off then you possibly have a fault in the wiring harness.
Hope that helps
Cheers
Peter.
