Hi there everyone, I recently somewhat finished my Nova 210 project, replaced the engine with a 351 (came new with a 351, previous owner put in a 302 and it wasn't powerful enough to overcome the 1.3 drive ratio) the 351 has a 4 barrel holley carb, edlebrock intake, new points, rotor, condenser, plugs, and wires. It's the 233 drive so it has a 1.3 ratio and I have a 15x15 prop on it. Yet I am only getting about 3900 rpms and 40-41 mph. I ran through the checklist that is provided on this forum and it all checks out, it seems with my setup I should be reaching 45-50 mph. What is the factory top speed of this boat? And any suggestions as to what could be wrong? I know it's getting plenty of fuel and the secondaries are opening. Also, this is with just me, maybe 150 pounds of gear, and full fuel tank, adjusting the trim around didn't make any big differences either.

My 210 tops out around 52 mph-gps. 19" stiletto ss prop. About 4700 rpm wot. 1.47 gears in the alphaI. The performance of mine doesn't seem to change much with load.
The numbers you give don't really add up though. When i put them to a prop calculator it come out with a 4% slip. That's real tough to do.
Whats your estimated HP? I'm running about 300HP with a 350 chevy.

I have a 260hp 350 in my 78 Nova. I have a 18p prop and with full tank and a load of gear, and my wife and I aboard I can hit 44mph at 4800 rpms.
This is using my GPS.
