were are the coils?

I have 1978 evinrude, 40 hp model is 40655A. Do I need to pull fly wheel? I just want to inspect them.

Actually it's a 1976 and if it's electric start they are mounted on the side of the powerhead. Charge coils, driver coil and points are under the flywheel.
