were to find hin#

i have an 81 or 82 caravelle 17 foot I/O fish and ski bowrider needing to find hin # any suggestions

Mine is an '85 and the numbers are in the upper corner of the transom.

the transom was completly rotted out and i had to replace it with new just like the floor and i am wanting to get it taged and they need the hin and i havent been able to find it should it be on a aluminum plate or something of that sort

usually, the hin is on the transom, upper starboard side. i saw a pontoon boat 2 years ago that had it on the rub rail, very aft, on the starboard side.. i thought that was odd, so did the game warden who was at the boat show looking for a hin on that boat too..

my hin is right above my drive on my 75 boat. molded into the glass. so i don't think it's always a tag of some sorts.

ok thanks i will try and look in the glass to see if i can find a number i just assumed it would be on a plate of some sort

thanks for the help i found it molded in the transom on the outside of the hull
