Does anybody know what year a Chrysler west bend model 45522 motor was made? 45hp

It's a 1965 and I think it was made by Chrysler.

Juvi, I've got a 1966 West Bend/Chrysler 50hp outboard. I would guess that it's identical to yours. I bought this engine 2 years ago and it runs excellant. I recently found a 67 Chrysler 45 hp that I bought for parts. These two engines are identical. If yours runs, I'd keep it and try to find a parts motor. Parts are available but they're expensive and hard to find. Good Luck

I'm not really sure if this is going through or not but I hope so.
Talked to my mechanic today and, unfortunately, it appears the lower end is gone. Apparently it looks like it could have been on the Titanic. That rusted out! Looks like the top end is still in decent shape though.
Wondering if there is anything out there that is compatable for the bottom end rather than buy a whole new motor.
Would appreciate any advice.

I believe any lower unit from 1965 to 1979 and possibly even later will work from the 35 - 45 - 55HP series of engines with the 2 section leg.

I might also add, mine, of the same year had exactly the same problem, probably bad seals and someone left it in the water for a prolonged period of time. I found a lower unit from ebay from a 1979 model that bolted on perfectly. I believe these to be a great motor, and I really enjoy the one I have.
