I recently picked this up and it came with a control but The wires that connect to the motor have long since been changed out, my guess would be the connectors needed to be changed. The problem is thhey did not replace the colored ends which shows which plug to insert them.

Any help on this matter as well as an idea to the age would be greatly appreciated.
The model number is 35402 and built in Barrie ONT.

The third digit is the year so it looks like 1964. Sorry cant help on the controls. Are you talking about the shifter and throttle controls? I have a pic of a 45 from 1967 if that will help. Your best bet is to keep an eye on Ebay or an outboard grave yard.

Electric start West Bends are 12 volt positive ground here are the color codes.Black- Negative hot wire,Red -Battery positive ground,Blue- ignition circuit,Yellow-starter control circuit,White-Tach circuit,Orange-Heat indicator,Green-Choke control.Purple-charge indicator circuit.According to my after market ser. manual 58 on motors have battery ignition with an under flywheel alternator with rectifier. You may want to mark the motor clearly that it is positive ground. At least the codes will give you an idea of the circuits involved.West Bend became chrysler in 66 and Chrysler became Force in 85.
