I'm going to be installing a Whale Tail XL on my 1996 Yamaha 150, from what I see you should mount it under the cavitation plate but the anode doesn't let it sit flush. Have any of you guys put one of these on a Yami 150 and had this problem? Would it still be OK to mount it on top of the plate? Thanks

If you must, they normally mount on top. Let us know how it works out performance wise.

Mounting on top also causes less air cavity formation at higher speeds as well. Top is good.

Thanks guys, I'll go ahead and put it on top, just saw some pictures and they were mounted underneath. We'll be testing it out in a tournament on Saturday so I'll let you know...thanks again!

hey Lubey, I'm totally moved in and the moving shock is settling down....I'll email ya.

Baystealth, your engine heigth will make more difference than mounting position of the foil,
Depending on boat design.

Like if your engine is too low, you are going to hate it when you try to trim out.
