Hi all,
This is the first time I have posted so would welcome any help.
The issue surrounds maneuverability of the boats at low speed. Particularly in reverse.
I have found that in use, it is difficult to control the direction of travel. Specifically, if the boat drifts in the wind or for any other reason it was not possible to correct the direction and return to course, without first engaging forward gear and manoeuvring.
With the Whaley I could put the boat into a tight reverse circle initially. However, when I turned the wheel completely in the opposite direction I only succeeded in making the circle wider. i.e. we could not change the direction of travel of the boat.
The boat is fitted with a single 60HP engine.
Hopefully this explanation makes some sort of sense. We are seeking ways to rectify this issue.
I look forward to reading any advice.
Mike.
