well, i just got my new project home yesterday and gutted everything today. bad news came when i got everything cleaned and cleared out of the way, my 305 block is cracked, visible with the naked eye so it is junk!! i know i can use a short block from a truck but i need to know which one i should use. i have been told that the bolt pattern on the crank is what i am looking for and that it has a one piece rear seal. the boat i am working on is an 87 2455 with the omc sterndrive. an 86 block is what i have been told to use but i would like some advice. thanks in advance
