A local guy put it on craigslist. His freinds dad bought it brand new when it first came out and never put it on a boat, he recently passed away so his freind either gave or sold it to him to use on his 17' skiff and he realized it was too big for a smaller skiff like that so he just wanted to selling for enough to buy a 50 or 60 hp motor for his skiff. I had a guy from a local repair place check it out first and he said just the powerhead alone is worth more than that.
The only problem is that my boat man told me you can't get power tilt for it unless you change out the mount, but at least it does have the nitro filled tilt assist shocks. Now I have to order controls and get it mounted. Then I'll sell my '83 70hp Merc with controls and a 6 gallon gas tank, it runs but not too good and right now I think it needs an electric choke.

Check out the aftermarket trim / tilt units by CMC and Panther (and others). They even sell them here at IBoats. If it were me, I'd invest in one of those puppies first thing. I had enough of tilting up a big motor in my youth. Plus, the trim feature is very nice.
Yep, I'm with JB and TD...Something not run in darn near 30 years probably not a bargain at all. The rubber/gaskets, dry bearings/walls pitted maybe. hard to tell, but good luck
Even if I have to replace all the rubber and gaskets, I would think it'd still be cheaper than buying a brand new motor of equivalent size from a dealer.
I may look into the aftermarket power tilt, but have been told they aren't very good quality and aren't worth the money.
There are some good tilt units out there. My buddy got a closeout motor without power trim and mounted a trim unit right to the transom. Motor mouted to a plate on the trim unit. It was pretty heavy duty. Stuck out a little like a jack plate does. Not sure what he paid, but I assume he saved money on the package.
