We got a late start, about 1pm, Joanne had to work till noon. But its never to late when its 92deg, and needed some R&R on the lake. So we took the boat to Bender Park (Lake Michigan) to launch. Air temp 90deg, SW wind, about 10 mph. Less then 1 footers. Got to our place on the beach, did alittle exploring, about 3:30 the wind turned more south, and a bit east. Here come the rollers. Pulled up, and headed out to deep water, with Joanne sitting in the bow, and moving along @ 7mph, with an 4 to 5 ft roller every 20 sec or so. Shes having a ball, WEEEE, she says. So we get the the north side of the power plant for some cover, and drop ancore, and sit it out for about an hour and half. Pull up and head in.
I have to say, even with the wind shift, it was a great day. The flare on the 16ft Yar-Craft deep V was great, never got any water over the bow or spray. Just a great day on the lake. And only one freeloader, while at the beach.
