I picked up from the home improvement store this fiberglass resin with hardner. Its the 1 gallon size that was normally 31 dollers. They had a tag on it that said $6.40 or something like that!! That is a great deal. I was guessing that ill need at least 5 gallons of resin for the rebuild im working on so im going to be useing this strff. I know that i need to sand or grind in between layers if i put 1 layer on top of another but for 6 bucks a gallon i dont care!!. Ive used this stuff before and i like it. You have to work fast with it but like i said 6 bucks is better than 32 bucks for a whole gallon of resin! Now how do i know if this is the stuff that has the wax additive in it? If it does thats when ill have to sand or grind in between layers right? It dosent say on it if it has the wax. Here's some pics of the stuff. There is a quarter in the picture in the bottom left of the can so you can tell how big it is. Thanks!

Was that at Lowes? I know sometimes when a product like that goes on clearance the warehouse will continue to send the stores the product until the warehouse is out. Maybe you will have a chance to buy more!:D

I got 5 gallons so far. And If i can find more i will buy that up too!!! I plan on doing my whole restoration with this resin!!!! What do you guys think about using this stuff for the stringers and other glassing applications? So far i dont know if this stuff is the kind that has the wax in it. If it does ill have to sand or grind between layers to get a good bond.

Does it say "Laminating' on it anywhere? If not, It's finishing resin (waxed) assuming of course, it's polyester

I used that stuff to fix my stringers last winter, but I didn't pay $6 for it; great price there. I think you should be fine, but I would sand with 80 grit or so real well in between coats to ensure adhesion, couldn't hurt.
