18 foot Starcraft Holiday. Going to the scrap yard.

About $0.50 / lb if I clean all the wood/plastic etc. out of it.

Any idea what the weight would be?

And is it a bad thing to fill it with gas and toss a match in to make it "clean"? ;)

i can only guess but probably 500lbs or so. and you can burn it to get rid of all the wood, but rember that aluminum has a fairly low melting point. i belive around 1200 degrees. iv "cleaned" motor homes this way by first removing all the siding and then lighting them on fire.

I really was kidding on the burning part. Now way I could do that.

So (and I should have asked this when I called the recyclers yesterday) by clean do they mean paint free as well?

Drive a little ways to a refuse dump, one of those that are free. I have used a few around 100 Mile House, but I am sure there a few closer to Kelowna. Those ones are generally free. Drive a bit to save some $$.

I thought you meant $0.50 lb to dispose of an old fibreglass boat, but you are talking about them paying you $0.50/lb to buy/recycle your old aluminum boat. Then what I wrote above is n/a

Have a great day,

Rob.

no paint does not have to be removed they mean separating forgen materials and other metals from the boat.

On Harvey [hwy 97] there's a self serve weigh scale on the right side of the road just as you enter from the north .Can,t remember the cross road. Weigh your trailer empty then weigh it again with the hull on.

It's not working. Or at least it wasn't last Sunday.

Was trying to weigh my new-to-me boat.
