What are stringers??

I'm new to fiberglass repair, and i'm hearing a lot of talk about stringers, what are they, anyone have any pictures?? Thanks!

Stringers are the Longitudinal Stiffeners in the Hull.....Usually made of Wood,.. But not always.....<br /><br />

<br /><br />The Stringers are running the Length of the hull,+ the Bulkheads run Crosswise......

Thats right! Sometimes they're made from ROTTEN wood!
