What are the disadvantage of mounting a transducer on a trolling motor

I just bought a garmin echo 200, i can mount the transducer either on the electric trolloing motor or the transom. What are the disadvantage of mounting it on the trolling motor? I would like to avoid drilling holes on my aluminium hull.

The only disadvantage is you would not be able to use it while motoring around using the big motor. For fishing I prefer to have it on the TM.
