Hi,

I am puzzled to what one would call the rubber water seals looking similar to a cv joint boot that are found in the boat`s well area.Usually the steering, fuel line, cabling ect would route through them.I want to replace them but cannot untill I know what they are called....feel like an idiot!

They are called bellows.

If you are talking about the ones above the water line which might extend from one side of the boat and contain lines and wiring to an outboard motor, they are called boots. These are not the underwater bellows. These are meant for aesthetic value with minimal water/dirt repellancy.

In addition to "(cable) boot," it might be referred to as "(cable) pass-through" or "(cable) grommet".
