What are these controls from originally?

These were on a boat I picked up and were running a late 80's or so Tohatsu 40C. What brand are they and how old? They were on a 1960 model boat, they may well be the original controls from that boat?

An old timer here also said Sea King, which most likely would also be Chrysler back then? They do work perfect though with the Tohatsu. I was also wondering if they weren't just an older set of aftermarket controls?
There's a rubber plug in the top, not sure what was there before, maybe a kill switch? There's no electrical in the box at all now.

Looks like Morse to me. I probably saw them on the old mans boat around 1965 if memory serves me right.Yes they were aftermarket ,he had them on a 75hp johnson or that "golden" 50 hp. He had about 9 boats at one time under his roof, so things get a little blurry for me, untill my memory is jogged.

I had a buddy down the road that had a mid 80's Tohatsu motor with those same controls, his read Spirit on the side. It looks like yours is missing the decal or has been painted over.
I'm not sure Tohatsu offered controls back then, they may well have just been a common universal set of controls. I ran his boat several times, they were good solid feeling controls.
The ignition on his boat was on the right side of the dash, just a safety switch with lanyard and ignition switch.

There's a twin set on ebay right now:

I'm guessing they're just an aftermarket set of controls used by several brands, the seller seems to relate those to Suzuki for some reason.

You have a Morse Control. As suggested by the previous replies, it will fit just about any motor if you are able to get the proper cable ends to adapt the motor ends. Also, the control itself can be set up for various motors. Some pull the throttle to open, some push to open, etc.

Morse Controls company was sold to Teleflex. They (iboats) should have new cables, but good luck finding adapters for some of the odd-ball motors.
