What are your thoughts on using sea foam on a 2 stroke?

I see people putting this in their cars, but not just in the gas tank like I was going to to for my boat. They use a vacume line, and suck it into the engine, until it stalls, which doesn't sound all that great to do to your car to me. Is there a way to do this to the boat motor, or should I just dump some in the tank? If there's a candidate for it, it's a 73 motor.

when I decarb a motor I use seafoam deepcreep!liberally spray in the cylinders which I find is best done tilted.leave for a few hours then add muffs and water and start the motor.if you have bugs you wont anymore and maybe some slightly curious neighbours.sure blows out the carbon .

I'm dumb when it comes to motors, so do you mean take out the spark plugs, squirt some, replace, let sit, and then start, or just spay in the carbs while running? Or both?

You can do it either way. For a really carboned up engine remove the plugs, tilt the engine all the way up, load up the cylinders and let it set. It's probably going to be hard to start and smoke a lot.
If you do a decarb as part of regular maintaince, just spray it through the carbs while running on a hose, and it's still going to smoke a lot.
I use sea foam in every thank of gas and don't worry about doing a decarb.
