you want to buy a marine deep cycle battery...should be rated in reserve amp hours not cma. something in 110 hr range will be good.... about your other question on battery use for 2 weeks... think I would consider one of the small gas generators to charge batteries during trip......2 weeks of steady use is a lot.......

Re: What battery should i buy for my trolling motor??

Here is another helpful tip. There is a small round sticker on the side of the battery that will tell you when the battery was made. There is a letter and a number on it. The letter repesents the month - 'a' is for January, 'b' is for February, 'c' for March and so on. The number represents the year - 9 is for 1999, 0 is for 2000, 1 is for 2001 and so on. So a battery that has E0 was made in May 2000. When you look for a new battery, you may see two identical batteries that were made 4 months apart. The freshest battery will last longer than one thats been on the self for 4 months.

Just a thought if your traveling long distances with just a trolling battery I would consider a Ever-Troll Battery they are very expensive but might be worth it for you.
