What block do I have ?

Some time ago I had to replace the long block, I am pretty sure the new one I got is not exactly the same as my old one.

I look on the new block and attached you can see a photo I made to the S/N. I cannot read it very well, what I read is 10054727 but I can't find it in the part catalog.
Do you know how to read it ? Do you know what block is this ?

Oh, it is supposed to be a 5.7

you have an '86 and up GM 2-bolt car & truck 350.

Ayuh,.... That's the casting number, Not a part number,.... What makes ya think it Ain't a 350,..??

Yes, I do not doubt it is still a 5.7, but I know it is not exact same model:

Old S/N: 0C602940 - The block had a hole to hold a mechanical fuel pump
New block casting number: 10054727 - This block has the hole plugged in fusion: cannot mount mechanical fuel pump.

This is why I say I am pretty sure the two block are not exactly the same.

The new block is a later model than the old one. All the newer engines run electric fuel pumps. Mechanical fuel pumps are so last century... :facepalm:

make sure you run the oil pressure switch setup for the fuel pump. There are many posts regarding that.
