what brand of 2 stroke oil

I was wondering what brand of 2 stroke oil should or let me rephrase that will give me the best performance and run the best im currently useing pennzoil marine premium plus.at a 50:1 ratio

What you are using is fine.

As much as I sing the "SYNTHETIC OIL PRAISE SONG" I seriously doubt that the average person will feel a seat of the pants difference in any oil they use.

If by "Performance" you mean all around performance, then you will see less smoking with a synthetic, reduced carbon deposits, longer sparkplug life and maybe smoother operation overall.

I like Amsoil HP Injector oil which can be premixed also!

yah i run synthetic oil to i was just curious to know if this is ok as faras carbon plug life smoke and maybe some emissions.i got a pair of 79 115 mercs and i just want to take care of them best i can.i am also a fan of amsoil so im sure ill be checking it out.thank you for your input...Rob

I've been on the Pennzoil Premium Marine (semi-synthetic) for a number of years, and it has brought me through some really tough times virtually unscathed.

I run the Penz full synthetic TCW-3 oil in a 20 year old XR4. I wouldn't put it in any 2 cycle engine that is not fully broken in. It just won't allow the wear needed for that. Once broken in, I think it will prolong the next phase of wear. If it's anything like synthetics have treated me with automotive engines, it should carry over across accidents, like overheating, and almost eliminate wear.

If Wal-Mart had a full synthetic TCW-3 oil, I would use that.

Well guys i apprciate all the input i guess ill stick with the penz thats what was in the boat when i got it and its easy to get.altho with gas and oil prices i was considering a cheaper brand.

And i do all my shopping at walmart im a walleye fisherman on a bluegill budget if ya know what im saying....
