Hi,
Is there any solvent for boat-foam (used in boats as flotation aid, to fasten gas tanks etc).

Acetone or thinner do nothing to this foam.
Anything else to try?

It is cured foam I want to dissolve/melt by the way.

I find the foam always dissolves very quickly by accident.

The Sun does a Killer of a Job on It........ If you've got the Time...........

A Power Wirebrush works in places........

A Spade-bit in a cordless drill works Very Good, in some places......

Don't know of any chemicals but if you have open access and don't mind a little water, a power washer works like magic. Cuts thru the stuff like a hot knife. Careful of whatever is under the foam. With a little caution you can remove the foam without affecting anything around it.

Laddies,

Gas You say. Hm... my gas tank is placed in foam. Should not be a good combination if You get a gas leak...
I will try gas and see what happen.

Realgun,
The foam is around the gas tank and I want to remove the tank to be able to build a new mounting for the tank so it can be removed any time I want and to be able to inspect the tank every time before I go out to sea.
The tank came loose last summer and I do not want that to happen again.
I have a plan how to fasted it much better then the foam thing (that the boat factory used to save money).
