Ah, I discoved that you start a new subject or thread by going to Forum Tools. Live and learn.
Meanwhile, I have an Evinrude 4hp model 4BRC1, and I'm looking for a carb repair kit. Unfortunately, several types of carb repair kits are listed for my model, and I see no numbers or codes on the carb that might tell me which repair kit is made for my carb.
Sierra website -- disturbingly -- skips my year of 4-horse Evinrudes. Bad omen. The kits they show resemble the gaskets I see on mine, but they don't seem to be identical.
Anyone know how to track down which carb kit goes with my year and model?
Also, because I must have sinned powerfully against the universe, I won my Silver Idiot badge by breaking the small white plastic ...well...'connector' that links the back-and-forth throttle lever you use when you drive, to the linkage on the carb. I wish I knew what this teeny, fragile piece of plastic it is called, but I found no name tag.
If anyone knows how to identify and maybe find a replacement part for this tiny, one-cent piece of plastic, I would be eternally grateful.
Without this part, no engine. Without engine, no way to move little sailboat out of treacherous channel. Without way to move little sailboat out of treacherous channel, all wife's excuses to avoid sailing become valid and trump anything in within 100 miles.
Many thanks to all. I think this forum is grand and I am a big fan of people who are out there actually using stuff helping others.
