A '58 uses a Sierra 18-5344 (580321). Is it ok for the '57?

Need two for the 5 horse too. Not sure of the year. Thanks.

These oem part numbers are for models RDE-RDEL-19 (1957 Johnson 35). I suspect they may be the same for the RJE-19's as well:

Condensor-510173 (Sierra 18-5199)
Coils- 582995 (Sierra 18-5181)
Points- 580148 (Sierra 18-5156)
Tune-up Kit- 172521 (Sierra 18-5011)

If I'm not mistaken NAPA Parts Stores uses the Sierra numbers and carry them. Might be worth looking in to. Good Luck............. ALAN

I believe the OMC magnetos made after 51-52 are pretty much universal, so coils/points/condensors are generally interchangeable. For instance, yesterday I was working on a 58 Ducktwin 3 hp with bad coils so I pulled some good coils off the stator plate from a 56 Lark 30 hp and now the Ducktwin runs like the schiz. As long as the condensors from the 58 fit the mag plate and the wire is long enough, you should be okay...assuming the condensors are okay.
