This is an '06. No issues with cold starts, and most times no issues with a hot start. It's the in-between engine temps that seem off. When warm, it will start after a couple of seconds of cranking and then have a very shaky idle for a few minutes, eventually smoothing out. Idle RPM also is a crap shoot when starting warm, sometimes around 800, sometimes around 1000, or somewhere in between - this is testing in neutral and on muffs, not in gear and in water.
Took the TKS module out and bench tested it. It extracted and retracted the correct distance and in the correct amount of time. The piston and bore were very clean.
All ignition parts are new this season with less than 15 hours on them.
I just cleaned the fuel strainer at the carb, replaced the in pump fuel filter and added a water separator between the tank and pump - last night. This seems to have improved things a little, but the issue is still present.
Anyway, where does the TKS module get its voltage from to open/close? It is basically working, but maybe not fully the way it should...or, maybe this is just how TKS carbs are, I've never owned one before.
