I like the stingray 250 CR from looking at it online. What other manufactures should I consider? I don't know much about boats but any input you have would be appreciated. I dont think I want a boat as big as a Sundancer. I have three kids and we may stay on the boat once or twice a year so a toilet is a must. I would like a medium to nice boat, good value for the $, I dont want a real cheap one that I would have a problem reselling. Ideally a boat between 20 and 40k 5 years old or newer. Thanks

Sundancers come in all sizes.. like this 240.. http://atlanta.craigslist.org/nat/boa/2426297116.html I would get a "mid cabin" vs a cuddy cabin (a Sundancer has midcabin, you need to look at this type of boat to appreciate the increase in room, at a minimum it's a great storage compartment, your kids will love it). Chaparral, Regal, Sea Ray etc make these boats. Not sure if Stingray has a mid cabin boat. Maybe this Chaparral.. http://atlanta.craigslist.org/nat/boa/2526015584.html

If the Stingray 250CR is the same boat as the older model 240CR I have been on one a few years back. Very standard for a small cruiser, dinette up front, small galley, small head, cave like aft cabin. It works for its purpose and would work for a few nights on board. The Stingray had a 5.0 and to me seemed to be a bit under powered. With a decent group of people, she worked to get on plane. Like most if not all small cruisers, climbing around in the cockpit is tight but they usually make decent use of space, the front deck is usually fairly tough to climb around on, as they are very rounded off and slope towards the sides and front (might be a concern with anchoring etc).

Your best bet is to go aboard the boats that interest you.
