I see that each poster has a rank insignia. Does this indicate expeience or number of posts?

BTW, My rank is Master unlimited AGT all routes (Ret), examiner / instructor <1600 GT

Re: What do the rank insignia indicate

Absolutely nothing, other than the number of post made.

It has no correlation with the quality of the post or the experience of the person making them.

Some of the best advice I have gotten, came as a Personal Message from people with very low ranks, some of the worst advice I have seen came from people with very high ranks.

It is all irrelative in the end.

The rank I finally attained at work before retiring was D.A.H. (Designated A**h*le!). Took years and a lot of dedication.

On this forum, at the slow rate I post, I'm guessing it will take approximately 103 years before I attain the rank of admiral. Hmmm. Might be on second boat by then.:)

Strictly number of posts.
Not quality of posts, but quantity.:)

Doesn't mean much. I've only been around here since March, but I am an iboats junkie so I have managed to gain a great deal more rank than I ever did in a real maritime service!

If you ask me questions about older OMC motors, I'll probably have a relatively informed answer. Ask about the new ones and I'm in trouble!
