Hi everyone , hope every is doin great. Ive got a question regarding the hole in the stringer (I think that is the correct word) now I understand that the one is required but I am not sure if the previous owner drilled a second hole thru the side of the bilge thru the stringer to let water release from the other side . I have repaired all minor leaks, so the water is not the issue anymore but do you still think it should be put back just in case. And finally do u think I should put foam in before sealing floor? Hope everyone understands my first question? Thanks for the help. Love this site.

yes, a drain hole from every part of the boat to the back is essential for the water to get out. Even though we think we make them waterproof, water always finds a way in somewhere. try a hole saw or spade bit and after you have cut your hole, epoxy the exposed wood.
As far as foam, look for a 2 part closed cell foam ( as it doesn't absorb water). Good luck with your project

Markwln,
If water get's in where it's not supposed to, and it will. you need a mean's to get it out. Just make sure you seal any hole you make, as stated before.
As for foam, that is a much, debated subject, I myself will put foam back in my boat. :p
