What do you guys think of this alignment bar?

also will this work on my 2012 vp sx drive? are these alignment bars all the same for merc omc and volvo?

They are all the same. Maybe in Canada you don't have the same options but I don't recall paying more than $80 for mine including shipping.

The price on the tool is not bad as you get the extras. But the shipping is a rape!!!
He touts a flat rate box from the USPS it's only 10 - 15$ Not $43

Maybe you didn't notice but it was international flat rate.

Why are you buying from ebay? According to your thread in dockside chat, you have an apprenticeship started at a Merc dealership. The alignment bars, gimbal beariing tools are all the same and will work on Merc, Volvo, and OMC, plus you can probably get them at cost.
The last bar I bought at dealer price was like 40 bux.

I also don't like the idea of hammering on an alignment bar to install a gimbal bearing.

well I'm not at the dealership yet I am starting in about 2-3 weeks and I'm going to need an alignment bar soon for my boat at home, so I figured I would look on ebay but the shipping is to much. I will just wait until I start there and get one besides than I will have my own to use everyday. thanks

I just checked mine. Bought it in 2006 for $43 plus $18 shipping.

Looks like same guy was selling them 2 years ago for $19.99 plus shipping.
